As we age fine lines can develop around the forehead, eyes and mouth. These are often a tell tale sign of aging and wrinkles are due to many different factors. Our own ‘intrinsic’ factors such as natural loss of collagen with ageing and the luck of genetics. ‘Extrinstic’ factors, which are outside influences, such as sun exposure, smoking and diet also affect the rate of aging. A good skincare regime and the use of high factor SPF are important to help prevent and reduce wrinkle formation.

  • Does injection of dermal filler hurt?
    Depending on the location of injection we may use local anaesthetic to reduce discomfort. At Lagom we also use slow, steady injection techniques to help make the procedure as comfortable as possible. Most patients cope very well with this treatment.
  • How long will the results last?
    On average results last for 12-18 months.
  • What is the downtime and is it safe?
    Downtime is minimal. After lip filler swelling can be present for up to 48 hours after the procedure.
  • Are dermal fillers suitable for me?
    Every patient has a personalised consultation to determine what treatments are best suited to their needs. We take the time to discuss the pro’s and con’s of each treatment and what your ultimate aim is. We do not undertake dermal fillers on patients who are pregnant or breast feeding.
  • How will I know I will look natural?
    At Lagom we pride ourselves on achieving natural results and will take the time to discuss your specific requirements. not too much, not too little, just right
  • What is the downtime?
    The downtime is very minimal. We advise no exercise or excessive rubbing of the area for 24 hours to avoid unwanted spread of the molecules that make up the anti wrinkle treatment.
  • If I have an event to attend when should I book my treatment?
    Ideally we would advise that you book a treatment around 2 weeks before and event as it can take this long to see the full effects of the anti-wrinkle treatment.
  • Who is suitable for this treatment?
    In terms of age, this is very dependant on every individual, and a full assessment will be performed on every patient. We do not perform anti wrinkle treatments on those who are pregnant or breast feeding, or those with certain neuromuscular conditions.
  • Is the treatment painful?
    Anti wrinkle treatment does not require anaesthetic. It is not painful, but there is a small element of discomfort. At Lagom we are highly trained to minimise discomfort and make the treatment as comfortable for you as possible.
  • What are the benefits of anti wrinkle treatments and are they safe?
    Anti wrinkle treatments smooth out fine lines and wrinkles giving a more youthful and fresher appearance. Generally anti wrinkle treatments are a very safe and effective procedure. A full, personalised assessment will confirm they are the right treatment for your needs and cover limitations of the treatment in more detail.
  • How long does it take and how long does it last?
    At Lagom you will be fully assessed to help you achieve the desired look from your treatment. The treatment itself takes 10-15 mins per area treated. Anti wrinkle injections generally last for 3-6 months
